Terms of Service

DRAFT — written directly from how SwingIQ actually works today, not a generic template. Two spots below are marked [TODO] because they need a decision only you (or your lawyer) can make — governing law/jurisdiction, and confirming a company/legal entity name if you want one distinct from "SwingIQ". Have this reviewed before Play Console submission or real-user beta — this is not legal advice.

By downloading, installing, or using SwingIQ ("the app"), you agree to these terms.

What SwingIQ is

SwingIQ analyzes a video of your golf swing and returns AI-generated feedback: what you're doing well, and specific things to work on, frame by frame. It is an instructional tool, not a substitute for a human golf coach, physical therapist, or doctor. Generated critiques can be wrong — the app flags feedback it's less confident about, but you're always the one deciding what to act on.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use SwingIQ.

Your account

SwingIQ signs you in anonymously by default — no email required. You may optionally link a Google account. You're responsible for whatever happens under your account/device, and for keeping access to your device secure (there's no separate password to lose or share).

Coins and purchases

"Coins" are a virtual, in-app currency with no cash value. They cannot be redeemed for real money, transferred to another account, or resold.
Coins can be earned for free (onboarding, watching a rewarded ad, rating a critique) or, once purchasing is enabled, bought in packs or via a monthly subscription.
As of this beta, in-app coin packs and the subscription tier are not yet purchasable — that capability is still being built. This section will be updated once real purchases go live.
Once enabled, all purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and subject to Google Play's own refund policy, not a separate SwingIQ refund process.
We may adjust coin prices, earn rates, or what a feature costs going forward; we won't retroactively take back coins you already hold when we do.

Acceptable use

Don't use SwingIQ to:

Upload content that isn't your own golf swing footage, or anything illegal, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights.
Attempt to abuse the coin economy (exploiting bugs, automating rewarded-ad views, etc.).
Interfere with or reverse-engineer the app's backend beyond what's needed for normal use.

We may review uploaded content for policy compliance, and may suspend or ban an account that violates these terms.

AI-generated content

Critique text, "Ask Coach" replies, and Compare insights are generated by third-party AI models (Google's Gemini, and/or other models reachable through OpenRouter) based on your swing frames. This content can be incomplete, inaccurate, or occasionally strange — treat it as a starting point for your own judgment, not a definitive assessment. SwingIQ is not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated feedback, including any injury that results from following a suggested drill or fix.

Your content

You keep ownership of your swing footage. We only use it to generate your critique and, if you choose to keep your history, to show it back to you later (see the Privacy Policy for exactly how long it's stored). We don't use your swing footage to train AI models ourselves, and we don't sell it.

Deleting your data

You can delete your swing history or your entire account at any time from Profile → Data & Privacy. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what each option removes.

Third-party services

SwingIQ relies on Google (Firebase, AdMob, Play Billing, Gemini), OpenRouter, Cloudflare, and Anthropic (for some AI-generated content, via OpenRouter). Your use of those integrations is also subject to each provider's own terms.

No warranty, limitation of liability

SwingIQ is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated feedback will be accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, SwingIQ isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Termination

You can stop using SwingIQ and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law
